Let’s Refresh your Space

Let’s Refresh your Space

Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interior of a building to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using the space. And when space has been used for a long time and hasn’t given enough attention, it turns outdated and loses its essence.

Here comes a time where you need to take it to it’s specialist, the interior designer who works on giving it a fresh look and a space to create more memories.

Analyse the look

During one of the interview with Ideal Home, leading interior designer Vanessa Arbuthnott shares her designer tips wherein she said ‘Collect pieces as you come across them, this way you will purchase things you’ve fell in love with. Rather than settling for what’s available in certain stores or online at the time you need something more’. Further she continued by saying ‘This way you can spend time analysing the look and colours of your room with accessories. The more time you take to add things into your house, your interior design knowledge will expand as you can understand what works best with certain features.

Let them enjoy furniture in their own space

Arranging furniture in a well proportioned sequence by making more of a conscious grouping by pulling furniture away from walls and out of corners. Secondly you can combat this issue by fixing some smaller light bulbs around the room. As this will not only illuminate the space but also create more depth to your home. You can also  use light colours on the walls, and by using mirror, as this will reflect the light  around the room.

Revisit your attic

If you want your  home to have a natural look, you must unbury old items like an old chair, an antique vase,  old photo frames and use them to add character to your surroundings. Here remember to use two different styles, employing singular style will give you space a generic look. Also avoid cluttering your space.

Try before you do it

‘Remember that colours change depending on lighting so buy sample pots and paint’ Vanessa Arbuthnott warns. ‘Paint at least A2 sized paint patches, on the lightest and the darkest walls in the same room – to see how the natural light affects the shade.’

Research the materials

Before installing anything or trying a particular style, research if the style suits your tone, are the materials affordable and available. Lastly check if materials are suited to the climatic conditions you live in.

The key to renovating your house  is to give a new look to it, without spending much and can only be done by proper planning, i.e by having a sketch ready, proper research about the materials and by preparing a budget of it.

Follow the above steps and get ready to engineer  a new look to your home. But remember even after reading 100 remedies by Grandmother, even then you need to visit Doctor to get a genuine cure, similarly you need an interior designers to help to give a new look to your space.
